Abstract

A new integrated device consisting of two tandem-integrated InGaAsP electroabsorption modulation (TEAMs) was proposed and evaluated. It has been confirmed that the two important functions, pulse generation and data modulation, in soliton transmitters, can be realized simultaneously in this single-chip device.
