Optimal power system stabilizing control by digital redesign technique

    Abstract

    This paper presents a practical and efficient approach to design a digital power system stabilizer (PSS) for which the control law of continuous-time system is reconstructed to make the response of the digital control system as close to that of the continuous-time control system as possible. In this paper, alternate digital control laws. On the base of redesign techniques(first-order approximation method and second-order approximation method) have been applied to determine the control signal for digital PSS. The effectiveness of this proposed method is illustrated by simulation study using multi-machine test system.
