Oxygen binding to the iron-copper cofacial diporphyrin derivative embedded in polymer film

Abstract

An iron-copper cofacial diporphyrin derivative was synthesized from 3,8,13,18-tetramethyl-2,12-diethylporphine-7, 17-diacetic acid. Its iron(II)-imidazole complex formed the oxyen adduct reversibly when it was embedded in synthetic polymer film. Oxygen binding affinity (P 1 2(O2)) and P 1 2(O2)/P 1 2(CO) were reduced to ca. 30 mm Hg and ca. 400, respectively, and they were not affected by polymer species.
