Phase dependence of tunneling of phonon excitations between two Bose-Einstein condensates

    Abstract

    We consider the tunneling of phonon excitations across a potential barrier spatially separating two condensates, which have different phases. We analyze the relation between the phase difference of two condensates and the coefficient of tunneling transmission by solving the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations. As a result, the transmission coefficient T depends strongly on because of the -dependent quasi-bound state.
