The growth of a uniform BC3honeycomb sheet over a macroscopic surface area of NbB2(001) and its phonon-dispersion curve was determined experimentaly. The experiment was carried out in an ultrahigh vaccum chamber with a cylindrical mirror analyzer for Augen-electron spectroscopy. The theoretical phonon-dispersion curves were obtained on the basis of an ab initio calculation. The atomic positions were optimized by the iterative loops of the calculation. It was observed that the C-C and B-C bond lengths were 0.142 and 0.155 nm respectively with the lattice constant of 0.52 nm.
