Abstract

Although body height at the age of 6 as well as at 17 increased year by year after the war, the increment in body height at the age of 6 was larger than that at the age of 17. Accordingly, the growth in body height during the ages from 6 to 17 decreased gradually. The length of the lower limbs at the age of 6 as well as 17 increased year by year after the war and the increments at both ages were rather similar. Accordingly, the growth in length of lower limbs during the ages from 6 to 17 was almost unchanged. With regard to sitting height the trend was quite different. The sitting height at the age of 6 increased year by year after the war but sitting height at the age of 17 was almost unchanged. Accordingly, the growth in sitting height during the ages from 6 to 17 decreased gradually. These trends are discussed in detail.
