Predicting local thermal sensation by using of thermoregulation model

Abstract

A new predicting model (OTn model) is proposed for the local thermal sensation with ASHRAE seven-point scale under the condition of non-uniform thermal environment based on the Zhang model. Especially, the prediction accuracy to the thermal sensation of the hot side is improved by this model. To develop the prediction model, the subjects experiment in the climate chamber is conducted under the condition from cold side to hot side. The local thermal sensations to the operative temperature under the conditions of steady state are predicted by the proposed model (OTn model) and original Zhang model respectively, and compared with the present subject experiments. As a result, it is found the accuracy of the local thermal sensations in the hot side is much improved by comparing with the Zhang's results on the whole.
