Real time simulator to verify demand and supply controller in microgrid

    Abstract

    This paper presents a real time simulator to verify performance of demand and supply controller in microgrid. It is based on a power flow algorithm which is called Backward Forward Sweep method. As this method needs the slack node which is defined as constant voltage source, it is difficult to solve the problem where the microgrid is islanded from the electric power network. The method proposed here can simulate the situation that the microgrid is operating continuously both grid-connected and islanding mode. The paper also includes typical results of confirmation of the accuracy.
