Abstract

This paper introduces some highlights of the current progress of development of accident tolerant FeCrAl-ODS (oxide dispersion strengthened) fuel claddings for BWRs (boiling water reactors) in the program sponsored and organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan. Both the experimental and the analytical studies in JFY2018 resulted in a successful step to develop the technical basis to introduce the FeCrAl-ODS fuel claddings to the current BWRs.
