    Abstract

In this paper the authors propose a method which forms a reduced admittance matrix minimizing the number of operations. The method can reduce the computation time for solving network equations. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated by three different test systems. Compared to sparse vector method using MD-ML, this method reduces the number of arithmetic operations significantly, and it would be effective for calculations with admittance matrices when right hand side vector is updated at each step of iteration.
