Abstract
Applications requiring real-time systems are typically bound to failures. Hence the greatest challenge in this field is to design, analyze and build such systems to prevent failures or at least to mitigate their effect on operations. This study highlights the factors that differentiates a real-time software development from other software as well as the importance of carrying reliability and safety analysis on such systems.
