Abstract

In this paper, we propose an output packet remultiplexing scheme for an MPEG-2 multiprogram transport stream transcoder. The proposed scheme avoids STD buffer failure by dividing the packets into Program Specific Information (PSI), audio, and video and implementing remultiplexing. Specifically, PSI packets are multiplexed at a constant time interval, audio packets are multiplexed at the same times as the input times of the audio TS packets, and video packets are multiplexed so that the outputs of the video TS packets are at equal intervals. Finally, we clearly demonstrate through simulation experiments the ability to prevent STD buffer failure and the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
