Abstract

A resonant tunneling phenomenon in a current-biased ultrasmall Josephson junction is predicted. It is shown that the tunneling is possible only at discrete values of bias current due to the quantization of Josephson plasma oscillation. We also predict an emission of a microwave photon accompanying the resonant tunneling, and suggest that observation of this photon may provide a possible proof for the existence of Macroscopic Quantum Coherence (MQC).
