Second and third-order nonlinear optical effects in ZnO channel waveguides

Abstract

We demonstrate simultaneous self-phase modulation and second harmonic generation in ZnO channel waveguides. We estimate a value of 13.9 3.0 W 1 m1, indicating that ZnO offers promise as a platform for nonlinear devices.
