Simple resource allocation scheme for heterogeneous traffic in MU-MIMO-OFDMA systems

Abstract

This paper proposes an adaptive resource allocation scheme to cope with heterogeneous traffic for multiuser multiple-input multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiple access (MU-MIMO-OFDMA). The feature of the proposed approach is to maximize the frame efficiency by simultaneously allocating frequency and space resources under different user's packet size and channel condition. However, since frequency and space resources generate numerous number of allocation patterns, we reduce the number of patterns thanks to the fact that broadband frequency channels in OFDMA provide almost the same performance. Computer simulation shows the effectiveness of the proposed scheme by comparing with the conventional scheme without resource allocation.
