Abstract
Mobile agents have become an important programming paradigm. Mobile agents can act on behalf of users to collect, filter, and process information. They can act autonomously and react to changing environments. Mobile agents are deployed in different settings, such as industrial control, Internet searching, personal assistance, network management, and many others. In distributed applications mobile agents can improve speed, flexibility, or the ability to handle disconnection. Although mobile agent technology has been attracting more attention, mobile agents suffer from insufficiency in the area of software platform for them. From the viewpoint of agent applications development, this paper points out the problems to be solved and presents our approach to them.
