    Abstract

    In this review, solvent extraction technology in precious metal recovery and refining from nickel/copper electrolytic refining slimes and platinum metal resources from the Merensky reef in South Africa is described along with the resource characteristics. A brief summary of solution chemistry in hydrochloric acid is also given. Three industrial process flow charts using solvent extraction technology are summarized.
