Abstract
Features of the crystal structures at room temperature and structural transitions in both Ba1-xKxBiO3 and Ba1-xRbxBiO3 with 0.1 < ϗ ≤ 0.5 have been examined in detail by means of electron diffraction. From the analysis of diffraction patterns, it has been confirmed that at room temperature the crystal system changes with respect to ϗ cubic system for ϗ ≥ 0.35 and orthorhombic for 0.1 < ϗ < 0.35. Furthermore, the cubic to orthorhombic structural transition with changing temperature was found to be due to the condensation of the Rx 25 and the RY 25 modes.
