Abstract

We experimentally investigated the temperature characteristics of photonic-crystal lasers coupled to Si waveguides. Output light was successfully coupled to the Si waveguides. The laser had a threshold current of 0.023 mA, and it operated at temperatures up to 63.9 degrees Celsius.
