Abstract

In general, for organic polymer, crystallinity is an important influencing factor that determines various properties. In this paper, the possibility of estimating the crystallinity of PEN, PPS, and PEEK by terahertz (THz) absorption spectroscopy is examined. It has become clear that the three polymers exhibit respective sharp absorption peaks and that their intensities are well proportional to the crystallinity. Therefore, THz absorption spectroscopy can provide a good estimating tool of the crystallinity of organic polymers.
