Three novel nitroalkyl pyridine alkaloids, untenines A, B and C, with anti-microfouling activity, were first isolated from the Okinawan marine sponge Callyspongia sp. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic methods. The synthesis of untenine A was also carried out.
