Timing jitter characteristics of ultrashort optical pulse generator using mach-zehnder-modulator-based flat comb generator

Abstract

We report on timing jitter characteristics of ultrashort pulse trains generated by a Mach-Zehnder-modulator-based flat comb generator. By phase noise measurements, the rms timing jitter of the pulse generator was estimated to be 70 fs.
