Abstract

We have proposed a tunable OADM which has a vertically stacked and contra-directionally coupled InP based semiconductor waveguide structure and demonstrated its wide tuning range and stable tuning characteristics. In this paper, we confirm its tuning response speed of 30 μs in the case of a 1 nm wavelength shift, and a tunable demultiplexing experiment with 4 WDM signals and the results of bit error rate (BER) measurement of 5 Gbit/s are also successfully demonstrated.
