Abstract

This paper proposes two universal encoders of voice signals as the composite information source. One is a variant of the linear predictive encoder called either the model matching encoder or the rate distortion encoder, for the operating principle of which mathematical proof will be provided. The other is a waveform encoder with a parallel tree search.
