Zinc ferrite and related sorbents for hot gas desulfurization process

    Abstract

    The characteristics of zinc ferriete and related systems were studied in terms of sorbents for hot-gas desulfurization process using simple reductive gas involving reductive sulfur substance represented by H 2S. The activity of the sorbent was completely regenerated by oxidation, after sulfidation. The sorbents of ZnFe 2O 4-SiO 2-ZrO 2 and ZnFe 2O 4-SiO 2-TiO 2 systems showed excellent desulfurization performance. The sorbents were considered satisfactorily used for hot gas desulfurization process of advanced IGCC plant equipped with high temperature gas turbine, based on the operation data of desulfurization process of the hit gas cleanup system at Nakoso pilot plant.
