Autonomous coordination technology in wireless sensor networks for online expansion

Wireless sensor networks represent relatively new data collection paradigm that is used for most of the indoor and outdoor data collecting environments. In an indoor factory monitoring environment production lines modification or expansion are necessary over time based on user and system requirements. For any kinds of modification in the production lines sensors addition and/or relocation are necessary. These sensors addition and/or relocation sometime increase the sensor density in some areas of the network. The high density areas of the network suffer congestion and affect the online expansion of the network. As a result, in a dynamic changing environment the online expansion is a challenging problem for the network. This paper proposes an architecture for an indoor factory environment and a technology which is called as coordination technology to achieve online expansion of the network. We show with simulation that the proposed architecture and the technology can effectively achieve the online expansion for an indoor factory system.
