    In this paper the authors propose an effective and flexible procedure of emergency control aimed at alleviating branch overload by generation rescheduling and load shedding. Linguistic control strategies and analytical equations are integrated in a fuzzy modeling framework for coordinated actions of available control resources. The fuzzy modeling provides a flexible decision-making process including the priorities of loads to be shed, and the effective redispatch of generator output. Model examples demonstrate the capability of this approach.
