Characteristics of diesel sprays by high speed video camera

The diesel spray experiment was done with a constant volume chamber. A high speed CCD video camera was used to grab diesel sprays in three working conditions. The back pressures of the experiment were 0.1 MPa, 0.7 MPa and 1.05 MPa. The grabbing speed of the CCD video camera was set at 40500 frames per second. The digital image processing technique was used to sharpen the edge of the spray images. Three tip penetrations of the sprays were shown quantitatively. Some experimental problems, such as the open time of the three way valve and diesel oil-spraying time serial, etc., were analyzed.
