抄録
Within the Japanese space plane program HOPE different generic vehicles such as OREX, AFLEX and HYFLEX were flown for both qualification and development purposes as well as validation. To improve the comprehension, four tests with a HYFLEX nose structure of original size were performed in the plasma wind tunnel facility SCIROCCO at CIRA, Italy. Within the cooperation between the Japanese space agency JAXA, CIRA and IRS a catalysis based sensor system for the measurement of the local dissociation degree was developed, integrated and applied. The facilities for the qualification at IRS, SCIROCCO and the sensor design are described. A methodology to derive the dissociation degree and corresponding results are shown.
