抄録

It has been suggested that the pulsatility of blood flow and the curvature of the arteries such as the aortic arch and the internal carotid artery may be associated with the localization of atherogenesis R.M. Nerem and J.F. Cornhill 1980). In the present study the axial and secondary velocity profiles in the developing oscillatory flow in a strongly curved tube were measured by LDV in order to give some insight to the relevance to the arterial fluid mechanics.
