抄録

A hydrogen treatment method for optical fiber which can improve its radiation resistance is proposed. This hydrogen treatment can significantly reduce the radiation-induced absorption of a pre-irradiated fiber. Pretreatment can also suppress future increase of induced absorption. The treatment is effective with regard to the drawing-induced 2-eV absorption band.
