Epitaxy of au and ag on cleaved (10, 0) surface of mos2

抄録

It is well known that Ag and Au grow on cleaved (00, 1) surfaces of MoS2with the (111) orientation. However, particles of Au and Ag grown along <10, 0 = crystal edges of cleaved MoS2thin films show the (110) and (100) orientations. These orientations are found through high resolution TEM images of individual fine particles. A small misfit at the interface of the (10, 0) plane of MoS2and (100) or (110) plane of metals is found to be the reason for these anomalous epitaxial orientations. These particles are good samples for studies of surfaces by the plan-view imaging method.
