Evaluation of infection risk by coughed air in hospital airborne infection control system of new consultation room

抄録

The objective of this study is to develop an airborne infection control system of a new consultation room for medical examination and inspection. The experiments were conducted in a full scale test room simulated as the new consultation room. Unidirectional airflow from a medical worker to a patient prevents the airborne infection. A screen which is placed between the medical worker and the patient prevents the droplet infection. When the screen is lowered to 0.9 m which is lower than the face of the medical worker, the concentrations of patient's cough are diluted over 5 digits. When the screen is opened to 1.5 m which is higher than the face of the medical worker, the concentrations keep over 5 digits by increasing 2.5 times air volume of normal ventilation. It is expected that infection risk can be controlled appropriately by operating the new consultation room in proportion to the infection risk.
