The first application of Mossbauer Effect Spectroscopy (ISMES) to the study of electrochemical interfaces was reported in 1965. The general area of in situ MES has been recently reviewed and therefore only some selected examples of the work performed in this laboratory is presented. One of the deexcitation mechanisms of **5**7Fe involves the emission of high energy electrons. This channel is much more effective than that in which gamma -rays are reemitted and thus provides a more expeditious way of recording a spectrum. Further applications of ISMES to other electrochemical systems involving other Fe species as well as other Mossbauer active nuclei is discussed.
