In this paper an anti-windup scheme is introduced in an attempt to track the desired signals as fast as possible by reducing the burden on limiting elements. The purpose of such scheme is to provide additional compensation in the presence of plant input saturation which leaves the linear behaviour unchanged but provides a graceful degradation of the performance when the plant goes into input saturation. The scheme is introduced along with the optimal controller based on LQG theory. It has been shown that with this scheme the stability margin increases.
