Purpose: To describe and report a non-invasive imaging system for the detection of polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV). Objects and Method: This study was made on 11 eyes of 11 cases of PCV The series comprised 8 males and 3 females. The age averaged 71 years. A fundus camera was modified and installed with a near-infrared hyperspectral imager. A false color image was constructed based on reflection spectra and relative reflection spectra. The finding was compared with indocyanine green (ICG) angiogram. Results: Area of PCV showed lower spectral reflection. Relative reflection also decreased when longer wavelength was used. The obtained images matched with the areas of PCV of ICG angiogram. Conclusion: Our near-infrared hyperspectral imaging system promises to be of value in the detection of PCV.
