Energy distributions of field emission electrons from tungsten (111) tips at 80 K and room temperature have been measured by a newly developed electron spectrometer. Observed curves of ∼ 10-8 A are in good agreement with the calculated ones based on the Fowler-Nordheim theory. With increasing emission currents, the spread of the energy distribution increases.
