Phase transitions in nucleonic matter and neutron-star cooling

The phase transition phenomena in neutron-star cooling and nucleonic matter was analyzed in the strongly correlated two-dimensional fermi systems. It was observed that the neutron single particle spectrum acquired an insulating gap above the threshold density which quenches neutron contributions to the neutrino production. It was found that incorporation of spin-isospin fluctuations effected that neutron and proton gaps in the liquid part of the stellar interior. The results show that incorporation of spin-isospin fluctuatiuons also induces a rearrangement of the neutron fermi surface which triggers the direct urea reaction.
