title = "Real-time secretion analysis revealed correlation of IL-1β release and loss of cell membrane integrity",
abstract = "Live-cell imaging of inflammatory cytokine secretion from human monocytes was successfully performed on a microfabricated well array chip by time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay using total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy. The system enabled to monitor secretion activity from tens of cells at a time resolution of 1 min. We first observed the close correlation between the loss of cell membrane integrity and {"}non-classical secretion{"} of IL-1β cytokine of inflammasome activated human peripheral monocytes.",
