N2 - This paper concerns a Photovoltaic / Diesel Generator hybrid power generation system with storage battery. Utilizing computational optimization methods, we carry out the optimum diesel generator operation and charge-discharge control of storage battery from the viewpoint of fuel consumption. Some numerical results, that demonstrate the validity of the proposed technique, are also presented. The derived trade-off relationship between the minimized fuel consumption and PV-battery capacities is useful for the design of hybrid system as quantitative indices.
