Robustness analysis and optimization of circadian clocks fluctuated by intrinsic noise

    Intrinsic noise is a major factor of fluctuations in genetic networks. This paper focuses on circadian clocks as a typical example of oscillatory genetic networks. We analyze fundamental performances of ciracadian clocks that are fluctuated by intrinsic noise, by using two evaluation measures about amplitude fluctuations and period fluctuations that are defined with solutions of the noise covariance matrix equation, which is a periodic Lyapunov differential equation. Based on these two evaluation measures, we also try to optimize a set of parameters that assures more robust performanes of the circadian clocks.
