Discusses results of a study on the mechanical behaviour of joints in offshore structures under static loads. Five joints were studied: monolithic, cast in place concrete, adhesive, haunch and insertion (all joints between a beam and a column). Gives details of material properties, fabrication and load testing. Presents experimental results for applied load, deflection, strain of concrete, reinforcing, prestressing bars and crack widths. Compares results obtained with calculations. The limit state design method was applied for ultimate strength and crack width. Location of crack formation varied. Ultimate flexural moment of the connected specimen with adhesive joint was lower than those of the other specimens. (C.J.U.)
