抄録

The optimum signal format and forward error correction (FEC) code rate for 40 Gbit/s-based WDM signals was investigated. The impact of optical filtering for 40 Gbits/s signals was studied. Results showed that the symmetrically filtered signals had more tolerance for dispersion compensation for fiber nonlinearity.
