抄録

Single phase NbC thin films have been irradiated with 600 keV Ar** plus ** plus ions. The superconducting transition temperature decreased continuously from 11 K to 4 K for fluences up to 10**1**6 ions/cm**2 and saturated for higher fluences. With the preservation of the B1 structure, the lattice parameter first increased, then decreased below its initial value and saturated in the T//c saturation range. The lattice parameter increase coincided with the formation of a defect structure consisting of small static displacements of the lattice atoms. The changes of the lattice parameter are discussed with respect to the agglomeration of point defects.
