Poly(phenyleneoxide) has good thermal and chemical stability. Sulfamide acid, one of the sulfonic acid derivatives, involves both an electron-drawing carbonyl group and a conjugated structure. In this paper, we focused on the synthesis of poly(2-methyl-6-sulfamide-1,4-phenyleneoxide) bearing sulfamide acid and the properties including proton conductivity and thermal stability. We also evaluated the conductivity of phosphonated poly(phenyleneoxide) and sulfonated poly(phenylenesulfide).
