Vertical progress of methane conversion in a D.C. plasma fluidized bed reactor

Methane conversion was carried out at atmospheric pressure in a d.c. plasma jetting fluidized bed reactor in order to elucidate fundamental characteristics of this reactor. Particle circulation between the annulus and the jet enhanced gas mixing. It was confirmed that heterogeneous carbon deposition occurred on the surface of particles in and around the plasma. Particle coating processes using plasma-enhanced CVD was expected to be realized.
